We took vacation this week and are having our "Staycation" here in St. Louis. Even though it's hot, we took a chance this morning and went to the zoo...we were hoping to see the new sea lion home, but the line was extremely long, so we took the time to visit the stingrays and a few other animals. The kids were excited to put their hands in the stingray cove, and the girls even got to "pet" a baby stingray! William tried, but he had a hard time keeping his hand still enough :)
One of their favorite things to do at the zoo is ride the Carousel- it's beautiful and showcases all the animals they have at the zoo.
You know it's a very hot day when your outdoor-loving children ask to go inside and not be outside anymore! We headed to The Boathouse for lunch - a great place in Forest Park that has paddle boats and a fairly big lake you can go in for a a day of fun. We stayed dockside today but would love to do that another day.
The rest of our "staycation" plans....movie night (check), game night (check), pool, art museum, paint/artwork, mini golf, and hopefully catch fireflies...it is going to be fun!
